Last night, I rehearsed the dances that we’ll do at the CUC Conference workshop. We have choreographed or adapted dances for the following:

Come Sing a Song With Me (pilgrim’s step)
Enter, Rejoice and Come In (slight adaptation of Brigitte’s Jig)
Let It Be a Dance (choreographed by Corinne Chepil)
Wake Now My Senses (slight adaptation of Winds on the Tor)
Spirit of Life (choreographed by Denise Nereida)
Carry the Flame (grapevine)

35 people have registered for the workshop, but we have a large room, so we’ll make it work.

March 8 – International Women’s Day

We’ll meet at the Unitarian Church of Vancouver, 949 West 49th (at Oak) 2nd Monday at 7pm to dance with Corinne. Corinne welcomes group members to share a dance. Usually there are about 12-15 of us. We take a short break for tea and conversation half -way through and end at 9pm.
The next Monday, March 15, will be the Unitarian worship service with dance. During the first hour we teach 6 dances, then have a break. In the second hour, the dances are repeated (without instruction) and interspersed poetry, sharing, story. We start with a chalice lighting reading and end by extinguishing the chalice flame and dancing/singing Carry the Flame.

Dance with us on the 2nd and 3rd Mondays

We’ll meet at the Unitarian Church of Vancouver, 949 West 49th (at Oak) tonight at 7pm to dance with Corinne. Corinne welcomes group members to share a dance. Usually there are about 10-12 of us. We take a short break for tea and conversation half -way through and end at 9pm.
Next Monday, the 3rd, Denise and I, Mary, will facilitate the evening with poetry, sharing, story and, of course, dances around the theme of Brigid’s Day- coming up on February 2.

This will be the last circle dance at UCV for 2009.

Denise and Mary will coordinate the 3rd Monday in January.

and we’ll resume meeting on the 2nd Mondays with Corinne and 3rd Mondays for a Unitarian worship service style dance – with poetry, stories and sharing as well as 6 dances.

In the first hour we learn the dances for the evening.

Then after a break, there will be readings and sharing related to our theme interspersed with the six dances of the evening.

We end with “Carry the Flame”.

All welcome: Our Mantra is there are no wrong steps; only variations.

No fee. Donations invited.

We’ll meet at the Unitarian Church of Vancouver with Corinne Chepil (and possibly others) leading dances on the 2nd Monday-June 8 and on the 3rd Monday-June 15 learn 6 dances and then intersperse poetry, story and sharing into a worship service, alternating dance and words.
